WELCOME!
...to my passenger-train travel logs and consists. I've organized the trips into two logs: NO MATTER WHERE IT'S GOING for North America (Canadian passenger trains accounting for 90% of both trips and distance; American and Mexican, the rest); and LA GRANDE ALLURE for Overseas (European passenger trains during 12 holidays; Australian and Fijian, one).
I've just posted revised versions of two La Grande Allure volumes, Reprise and Companion Document. Involved are minor corrections and style changes. Readers can access these revised volumes under Latest above, or any volume by means of the horizontal toolbar located both above and at the bottom of these pages.
All volumes of both La Grande Allure and No Matter Where It's Going have now been updated. I intend to continue posting further versions where necessary, including annual updates at the beginning of each new year in which there have been further travels.
Please note that these volumes are personal accounts of my passenger-train and associated road, marine and air trips, supplemented by lots of photos and other images. I hope they will appeal to those interested in the role of the passenger train in society, and the evolution of rail travel over this period. While trip purpose, references to travelling companions, and anecdotes are included, I've tried to present them in such a manner as to be easily avoidable by those looking strictly for train consists or composition.
